Stop Signs
Every driver approaching a stop sign at an intersection and:
- Shall stop his/her vehicle at a marked stop line or if none, then immediately before entering the nearest crosswalk, and
- Shall yield the right of way to traffic in the intersection, or approaching the intersection so closely that to proceed would constitute an immediate hazard. After having yielded, then the vehicle may proceed to enter and pass through the intersection, only if safe to do so.
Definition of Stop
Halting of a vehicle (tires come to a complete stop), even momentarily, when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with directions from an MP or of a traffic control signal or traffic sign.
